I haven’t done this in a while, but I thought it was worth throwing this together.

Something that’s making me happy this week

I’m now the owner of an eReader!

A stock image of a Sony PRS-350

I got a refurbished Sony PRS-350 and I’m loving it so far. I named her Marian. Of course, Marian needs accessories.

I got this skin from Decal Girl

Case for Sony PRS-350

…and dark blue case from the Sony store.

Something that’s pissing me off this week

Cover art for Maggie Goes on a Diet by Paul Kramer

This is an actual book meant for children as young as six. From Goodreads:

This book is about a 14 year old girl who goes on a diet and is transformed from being extremely overweight and insecure to a normal sized girl who becomes the school soccer star. Through time, exercise and hard work, Maggie becomes more and more confident and develops a positive self image.

I don’t know why I’m surprised that a book like this exists: girls are being told from a younger and younger age that there’s something wrong with their bodies and they need to be ashamed. Still, I’m appalled. This is truly fucked up, folks. I just…don’t know what else to say.
